Here are the steps to install an use paperclip with Ruby on Rails:
1> Get the paperclip plugin along with imagemagick plugin
2> Get imagemagick and imagick installed through apt-get
3> Just use the example code from imagemagick
4> sudo apt-get install imagemagick

Yes it is great plugin. Moreover it has support for amazonS3. I think its rivel attachment-fu lacks it
